Obituary

Tinney, Debra Susan
With immense sadness our family announces the passing of Debra Susan Tinney at her Brights Grove home in the arms of her family on May 22, 2022. She was the wife, best friend and confidant to her husband of 44 years James Tinney. Loving Mother of Jamie/Sean Rea and Brian/Claire. Proud Gramma to Violet, Lola and Lincoln Rea. Deb was born on June 20, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa. She was predeceased by her Father Henry, Mother Darlene and Brother David Fenzlein. She is survived by numerous family members in Iowa, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arkansas and Ontario. Debs Father was a lifetime Military man in the United States Army. She lived the majority of her life in El Paso Texas with stops in Iowa, Germany, Italy, Michigan, New York and Canada. Her last move was the 22nd in her life. She knew how to pack and unpack a house in quick order. Deb enjoyed living in this area and loved this Country. She graduated high school in El Paso Texas and then moved back to Iowa to further her education at the University of Iowa where she attained her Bachelor of Science degree on May 13, 1978, her wedding day. It was in her Senior year in 1977 during a bus trip to Daytona Beach, Florida for spring break with friends that she met her future husband. After seeing each other five times over a period of thirteen months they married in Iowa City, she then moved to Sarnia. Deb worked different types of employment but her most favourite position was staying home to raise her children. She loved being a Mother and through her coaching ensured both went to University and graduated with Degrees. Today they are successful in their chosen fields. She loved to look after her Grandchildren, play piano, cook, decorate, shop, entertain, go walking, jogging and bicycling. One year she rode over fifteen hundred miles on her bike in a single summer. Ride with the wind my dearest, in my dreams I will catch up to you in time on another beach somewhere. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Debra’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to McCormack Funeral Home. In honouring Debs wishes, there will be a private family service only.
