Obituary
Lawrence Winston Dewey “Larry”
On Friday, June 16th, 2023, Larry Dewey passed away at Vision Nursing Home at 80 years old. He was born in Montreal on May 27, 1943. Larry was the beloved husband of Ellen Dewey for 57 years. Loving father of Randy (Christine) and Jennifer (Walter) Diepeveen. He was a cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Louise Dewey and brothers Leslie (Winnie), Ralph (Marion), Pine, Cecil, John, Doug, and sister Margaret. He is survived by his brother Clifford (Joanne), and sisters-in-law Joyce, Sadie and Norma. Larry was known for his kindness, dedication to serving the Lord and expressing that through helping others. People respected him for his commitment to serving the community and meeting people’s spiritual needs. He worked at Dow Chemical in a few different roles, but his passion was for ministry. He left Dow after many years to pursue sowing seeds of goodness for the kingdom of God in the lives of others. A place he calls home now. A special thank you to the staff and medical providers at Vision Nursing Home for taking care of him over these past 5 years. Thank you to Bethel Pentecostal Church and McCormack Funeral Home for their compassion and support through this challenging time. Family and friends will be received at Bethel Pentecostal Church Friday, June 23rd, at 10:00 am for a viewing and opportunity to speak with the family, followed by a service at 11:00 am. The interment will be a small family gathering the following day. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Larry’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Sarnia Lambton.

Condolences
Dear Family, again sorry for your loss! May you remember of all your great memories today! Our fondest memories are of when we would see Larry smiling as he was walking at Lakewood Campground and to the coffee shop. As I was writing this I could still see him smiling and hope this brings the family much comfort today also that we all will see him smiling once again! Sincerely, Gar and Kerry (Barr) Johnston!
