Condolences

Dear Joanne, my deepest condolences for your loss. I was fortunate to have crossed paths with Don several times over the years working in schools and with sports. I first met Don in Corunna as a classroom teacher and then again in Petrolia as a Principal and colleague. Don’s dry humour was well known among staff and always brought on laughter. As a new principal I knew I could always count on Don’s good advice & suggestions. My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Connie Quinn-Vaillant

Dear Joanne, On behalf of the 1980 St Joseph’s graduation class, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and Mr Steele’s loved ones. We recently held a class reunion and were talking about our memories of him, we even recalled that you two met around that time. We think that at that age we gave him a pretty rough time, but we remember Mr Steele with respect and as a wonderful teacher who left a lasting impression on our lives. With our sincere sympathies, may he rest in peace.

Sending my condolences to Mrs. Steele. I was a student at St. Joesph's School Corunna. Mr. Steele was a kind teacher. I remember he made a poem for the class with a line with each students name in it. It was funny and memorable.

Don was a man of integrity, honesty and empathy!! As a colleague I enjoyed working with him and knew I could always count on him to do the right thing in any situation!! Surely the suffering he endured during his last years has earned him a higher place in heaven! Rest in peace Don!!
