Obituary
C. Wayne MINIELLY. 1941 - 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Minielly announces his passing on Oct. 2, 2023. During a lengthy battle with cancer, that he stubbornly refused to give in to, Wayne took charge and wrote his own obituary as follows:
After 82 revolutions around the sun, it has been decided that my time on earth has run out. My mission is complete. My wife Carolyn (nee Elliott) and I have reared two nestlings who have since abandoned their nest. They are Tyler (Sara) of Sarnia and Amanda (Jeremy) of Petawawa. Tyler and Sara have blessed us with two lovely granddaughters: Isabel and Lilly. My surviving siblings include Ivan (Florrie), Clare (Jane), Royce, Elaine Morgan (Raymond) and sister-in-law Betty (Allan’s wife), and Carolyn’s sisters Shirley King (the late Roy) and Jean Morwood (John). Deceased are brothers Allan, Ross and wife Caroline, and sister-in-law Marilyn (Royce’s wife). Carolyn and I began travelling in 1989 when we went to Greece on a two-week tour of the mainland and islands. That sparked our interest in touring and we have visited multiple countries and every continent, including a fabulous 3 week trip to Antarctica. I have had several jobs- clerk at Cabot and a mechanic at Imperial Oil from which I took an early retirement in 1992. I finished my working years as a driving instructor-a job I thoroughly enjoyed. My hobbies in retirement were small woodworking projects, playing bridge and gardening.

Carolyn and family: I extend my heartfelt sympathies at this time of loss. Admired Wayne and Carolyn for their shared courage in living life as it was. I was able to share with you in dialogue some of the stages of what turned out to be Wayne's last days. Thanks to both your efforts we were blessed with the opportunity to enjoy competitive Bridge at a high level. Wayne's is the story of a life beautifully lived.
