Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Pamenter family announces the passing of Sylvia Victoria Macdonald (nee Pamenter) peacefully at Bluewater Health on January 5, 2022 at the age of 74. Survived by her son, Tyler Macdonald, London; and grandaughters, Samantha and Lily, Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents, Archibald and Angelica Pamenter. Beloved sister to Fred (Liz) Pamenter, Barrie; Frances (Gerry, deceased) Burr, Sarnia; Carol (Ken) Dawson, Sarnia; Michael (Kelly) Pamenter, Sarnia; and many nieces and nephews. Always social, and a free spirit, Sylvia enjoyed a brief but creative career as a hair stylist in London and in Sarnia, eventually owning her own salon called "Scizzlers". In spite of her many health challenges, Sylvia always displayed a zest for life and kept her sense of humour. The family would like to thank the dialysis staff at Bluewater Health, Dr. Maddison and the palliative care team, CarePartners support workers, Dr. Wadden and the Canadian Mental Health Association, Dr. Withers, family physician, and a myriad of other doctors who provided such excellent care for Sylvia. Services have been provided by McCormack Funeral Home, Sarnia. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held later. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online at “Sylvia’s Guestbook” mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Expressions of sympathy may also be made online to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (kidney.ca), or online to a charity of your choice.

Hi Carol and Ken, We were saddened to hear that Sylvia had passed away. Losing a sibling is hard. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
John and Velma Young

My condolences to the family. I remember Sylvia as a fun loving friend. We both attended King George School and Northern HS. Whether it be roller skating at Rose Gardens or time spent at her home doing different hair styles/makeup ,we always had a blast. Sylvia was always surrounded by many friends. We lost touch for several years but did eventually cross paths once again. She was such a big part of my youth, I was sad to hear of her passing.
