Obituary

June Bell (nee Grant), at the age of 84, passed on July 5, 2024, at Bluewater Health, and peacefully entered her heavenly home to be reunited with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Beloved wife of John for 63 years. Dear mother of John (Rita), Jeff (Charity), Jerry (Kim) and James (Carrie). Loving grandmother of Adam, Laurenne, Michael, Bethany, Joanna, Hannah, Andrew, Josh, Jonah (Matracea), Malikai and Olivia (Dakota) Frey. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Eva Grant, siblings Ellen, Bill, Carl, sister-in-law Joan, brother-in-law Ralph and daughter-in-law Karen. She is survived by her brother Ed Grant, her sisters-in-law, Shirley and Margaret Grant, as well as many nieces and nephews. June was a God-fearing woman, a caring mother and an inviting neighbour who always left the door open for others. She passionately wrote poetry, poured love into her crafting, and cared deeply for all animals. June faithfully served her church community and selflessly volunteered at the Salvation Army. In addition to all of this, she worked at Bell Canada for 35 years. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her dear friend Christine, Nurse Tammy, the PSW workers as well as the entire staff who helped to care for June at Bluewater Health. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Salvation Army Sarnia Community Church, 970 Confederation Street, Sarnia, for visitation on Friday July 12 from 10 to 11 am. A Celebration of June’s Life will follow at 11 am. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “June’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
